This program will contribute to the definition of new absorption refrigeration mixtures, based on ionic liquids, non-toxic and environmentally biodegradable, alternatives to the actual fluids used in absorption refrigeration industry, namely LiBr and NH3, that present problems like crystallization, corrosion, and instability (for LiBr) and poisonous, harmful to people’s health and to the environment (in case of ammonia).
